Eckelmann FCS Unveils New Compact Controller

User-friendly with autotuning: the E°Darc F04, streamlined to the max

For over 50 years, Eckelmann FCS has been developing innovative automation solutions and drive technology for the machine and plant engineering industries. Now, the Herford-based innovation hub is entering the market with a new compact controller, the E°Darc F04.

One of the strengths of Eckelmann FCS, a subsidiary of the Eckelmann Group, is the development of custom functionalities that enable optimal solutions for customers.

The E°Darc F04 is the first new, in-house developed drive controller in a current product family featuring state-of-the-art technology for highly dynamic drives, named after its rated output current of 4 Aeff. It demonstrates its advantages under high demands for dynamics and accuracy, such as in precise positioning movements.

The well-designed, highly compact housing of the E°Darc F04 requires only minimal space in the control cabinet.

Features and specifications:

  • Power supply: 230 V AC, single-phase
  • Rated output current: 4 Aeff
  • Controlled operation of synchronous, asynchronous, and linear motors
  • Integrated STO safety function
    (Safe Torque Off), SIL 3
  • UL certification: in preparation
  • Fieldbus: EtherCAT® (CoE)
  • Position feedback:
    Incremental encoder
    Multiturn encoder (battery-buffered)
    EnDat® 2.2
  • Integrated motor brake control
  • Integrated measurement of DC link voltage for automatic adaptation of pulse width modulation
  • Service interface (USB-C)
  • Connection for external braking resistoroller the ideal partner for motors in Eckelmann’s established motor series.

This makes the new E°Darc F04 compact controller the ideal partner for motors in Eckelmann’s established motor series.

Commissioning and diagnostics are optimized by the new E°DriveSet service tool. It features a commissioning wizard with an autotuning function that reduces the effort required for parameterization during commissioning to virtually “zero.”

One service tool for all tasks: With E°DriveSet, trained users can access diagnostic functions, while commissioning engineers, service technicians, and developers can use assistance functions to intuitively perform commissioning and parameterization of the drives.
