What features are needed to optimally control CNC cutting machines? The E°EXC 880 E°CUT ECO has them all! The application-optimized CNC control combines all commonly used I/O functions on a compact platform. Pre-installed technology packages are available for plasma and oyx-fuel cutting as well as laser cutting.
Integrated distance control and cutting HMI
The serial interface supports a convenient integration of many standard plasma current sources. Of course, it is available with our high-precision CNC-integrated distance control. However, also an external proximity control can be connected either serially or directly via digital interface. It comprises the installation of Eckelmann’s well-known Cutting HMI. If needed, a CAD/CAM post-processor (cncCUT) can be set up.
The following cutting head configurations are supported:
- 1 to 2 plasma cutting heads with internal or external distance control
- 1 to 4 oxy-fuel cutting heads with proportional valves
- 1 laser cutting head with analogue power control
- Combination of 2 technologies: 1 plasma and 1 to 3 oxy-fuel cutting heads
The control is limited to 4 interpolating axes, thus ideally suited for exports to China. Overall, the E°EXC 880 is capable of controlling up to 6 CNC axes. The drive technology can be integrated via EtherCAT™ or CANopen™.
Your advantage: save costs with series machines
The biggest advantage of the CNC compact control system is that the mechanical engineer no longer needs to compose his machine control ‘from scratch’, i.e. from individual components. The control and the I/O modules are here replaced by one central control component, which can be quickly brought into service with our proven machine configurations. The wiring effort—and its susceptibility to errors—is significantly reduced by the default setting of I/Os. Of course, savings in time and costs particularly pay off in the case of series machines.
In terms of interfaces, the E°EXC 880 E°CUT ECO is equipped with 2 galvanically isolated CAN buses, 1 EtherCAT master, serial interfaces (1 x RS-232, RS-422/RS-485, switchable, and 1 x RS-422/RS-485, switchable), 20 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs as well as 4 analogue inputs and 4 analogue outputs.
