Turnkey automation and control systems for production in the construction materials industry and building materials plants. The company’s focus is on modernising existing production plants for construction materials or old facilities in the building materials industry.

Construction materials and construction chemistry

E•MIC NT is Eckelmann’s proprietary high-performance MES system for the weighing, dosing, mixing, filling and packaging of powdered, pasty and liquid raw materials and products. The solutions have proven successful in many applications and modernisation projects in the building materials industry.

Recipe control and management, operational data logging and the continuous recording of production and quality data are among the standard tasks in the building materials industry. These tasks – as well as the complete product and batch tracking – are solved by E•MIC NT.

E•MIC NT also supports the connection of the control systems to the higher level of production planning and to the commercial information infrastructure. Eckelmann has many years of experience in the integration of control systems into ERP systems such as SAP. In connection with the MES functionalities of the control system, this makes production processes considerably more flexible and increases productivity. But the integrated information infrastructure is also of benefit to quality management in the building materials industry.

  • Basic automation with standard PLC
  • Controls for the weighing, dosing and mixing of powdered, pasty and liquid raw materials and products.
  • Batch and product tracking & tracing
  • Interfaces to laboratory automation and LIMS integration
  • Automation of raw materials receipts, warehouse management, transport control, filling and shipping
  • Intuitive operating concepts and clear visualisation

With the help of modern graphical development tools and the proprietary StateCase tool, Eckelmann’s engineers model complex sequence controls for automation in the building materials industry. In addition, dosing and mixing processes can be realistically simulated. This preparatory work allows for a smooth migration without serious impairment of the ongoing production.
