At this year’s Chillventa the E*LDS team from Eckelmann presented, amongst other things, innovative solutions for combined refrigeration and heating. The focus was on CO2 transcritical booster systems with multi-stage heat recovery via a continuously regulated gas cooler bypass. Installed in large supermarkets it can often completely replace conventional heating, quickly paying off the somewhat higher investment in the refrigeration system. The heat recovered is used to heat drinking and heating water. Regulation concepts for CO2 hybrid systems (R744 subcritical and R134a) with cascade heat exchanger will also be presented. In numerous projects of all sizes Eckelmann as system partner has gained unparalleled expertise in the intelligent regulation of refrigeration system with heat recovery, from discounters to food wholesalers. Even special solutions such as the integration of geothermal energy and air heat pumps into combined refrigeration and heating systems can be simply realised with the highly flexible E*LDS control system.
Eckelmann not only offers a comprehensive, application-optimised range of refrigeration electronics – from case controllers and pack controllers to the E*LDS system control centre. The competent E*LDS team of specialists for control technology and experienced refrigeration technicians also provides customer support during planning and commissioning, as well as realising individual special functions at short notice. “Our customers’ ideas enrich our innovation process”, stated E*LDS product manager Michael Suhre. “This is also reflected in our trade fair motto ‘Powering Your Performance’.“
The high end pack controller VS 3010 CT, specially developed for CO2 transcritical applications, combines all the regulation functions required for transcritical operation in one component. Thus the VS 3010 CT ensures extremely stable plant operation in all operating modes. The heat recovery is integrated into E*LDS via configurable function modules on the basis of programmable controllers (DDC) from Eckelmann. This enables e.g. the setpoint for the heat recovery to be seamlessly adjusted to the demands of the building control technology. This ensures that the refrigeration system always provides precisely the right amount of heat required at any time, intelligently and efficiently coupling refrigeration and heating.
