On February 1,1977, the success story of Eckelmann AG in Wiesbaden took its start. Since then the engineering firm of the founder Dr.-Ing. Gerd Eckelmann has grown into a prospering medium-sized company group, whose automation solutions are used in many sectors all over the world. Whereas earlier Eckelmann AG focused on microprocessors for industrial application, today the company is an experienced partner in digitalizing and connecting industries. Eckelmann AG and its subsidiary companies in Germany, Czech Republic and China count about 450 employees. In 2016 the revenue amounted to 60 million euros.
Right on time for the 40th company anniversary the generational change in the executive board was brought to an end. Peter Frankenbach, the new spokesman of the executive board, seizes the opportunity and takes a look ahead into the future: „With the trends of digitalizing and industry 4.0 we experience a spirit of optimism, just like we did with the introduction of the microprocessor 40 years ago. I see great potential for the automation sector and, thereby, for our company. As architects and engineers of automation solutions it is our mission to become groundbreakers of digitalizing to our customers. Our branch competence and our ability to connect existing technology with modern internet technology provide the best preconditions.”
Two tendencies have dominated the development of Eckelmann AG from the start. First, the expansion of services, making it a provider of complete solutions from a single source. The mere service provider became a full-service provider with hard and software development, electronics production, electrical systems and switch cabinet construction and worldwide service. Second, the development of industry focal points. Our engineers have complemented their know-how in automation techniques with profound application knowledge in selected sectors. Today, the company focuses on machine automation, refrigeration, building automation, automated test systems, as well as plant automation in the pharmaceutical, food, and steel industries.
