E°CUT: one solution for all cutting requirements

“With the intuitive operation and high flexibility of our E°Cut cutting solution, we have fully met the needs of the American market,” says Dr. Marco Münchhof, CEO of Eckelmann AG, delighted with the enormous success of the FabTech presence. The response to the automation of CNC machines for plasma, laser, oxyfuel, or waterjet cutting was consistently positive.

At FabTech in Chicago, the sales team presented itself as a partner for system integrators and OEMs, offering complete automation of all laser systems: proven functionalities, forward-looking E°CUT Control simulation, and customizable E°CUT HMI software.

The focus is on the user interface, which has been praised by industry experts for its practical features, well-designed user experience, and option for customer-specific branding.

With the automation of the CNC industry, the team provided answers to the global shortage of skilled workers. For example, with a self-explanatory HMI solution and an easy-to-install complete cutting package consisting of CNC control, CAD/CAM, servo drives and motors, industrial PC plus software required for the automation of any cutting machine.

The Elements Box as a complete solution also met with an enormous response: the same software is used to control all machine types, from light industrial machines with a plasma torch and complex machines with bevel cutting to oxyfuel cutting and drilling.

Retrofitting remains an exciting topic. With the ExC882 controller, which also supports analog axes, and of course the Elements Box, Eckelmann was able to provide convincing answers here as well.

“There is a clear shift in the market from plasma to laser, which will continue in the coming years. The technological openness of our solution supports customers across all technologies,” says Sales Manager Oliver Sebastian, who is familiar with the requirements of the American market. He expects increasing demand for OPC UA and networking solutions.

Together with the Industry Fusion Foundation (IFF), Eckelmann is able to provide detailed data as a partner in a strong alliance.

An exciting topic for the future is chamfering and the production of welded parts on a single machine – the Eckelmann control system supports various kinematics for this purpose.

Jan Hilpert and Hans Platt, managing directors of Eckelmann North America LLC, specialists in the requirements of the CNC industry, are responsible for acquisition, consulting, and on-site support.
