MicroStep Europe required an affordable system for high-quality 2D laser cutting: Eckelmann delivered the complete control and drive system including software for the MSE Smart FL from MicroStep Europe. The company was also looking for a partner and supplier for control technology to implement the future topics of digitalization and the vision of Industry 4.0.
As a partner of MicroStep Europe GmbH, Eckelmann, in cooperation with other companies within the IndustryFusion Foundation (IFF), takes on the task of securing and further developing the digitalization and networking of the European industry. The vision: to provide networked machines and complete lines through the association. The IFF was founded as an association of machine and plant manufacturers, component manufacturers, software developers, as well as representatives from science and politics within the Industry Business Network 4.0 e.V. in 2020 in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
MicroStep Europa GmbH was founded in Bad Wörishofen, Bavaria, in 1999 and supplies production companies — from small workshops to large corporations — in the DACH region with cutting-edge metalworking technology. The company specializes in the sale and service of CNC cutting systems for 2D and 3D cutting of sheet metal, pipes, profiles and container bases using laser, plasma, oxyfuel and water jet technology.

Efficient laser cutting of thin and medium sheet thicknesses in various materials (including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum) is made possible: with an output of 2 kW to 30 kW on machines with dimensions from 1.5 by 3 meters to 2.5 by 12 meters.
As a pioneer in machine automation, the Wiesbaden-based company offers machine builders of cutting machines the E°CUT solution package.
Customizations within the software were seamlessly integrated into the E°CUT solution for MicroStep Europe in order to meet customer-specific requirements.
Control and drive IPS plus software from a single source: The MSE Smart FL from MicroStep benefits from over 40 years of laser cutting expertise from Eckelmann.
