Flanked by its subsidiaries FCS from Herford and REX Automatisierungstechnik from Erfurt, the Wiesbaden-based Eckelmann Group will be presenting future-oriented solutions for machine and plant automation to manufacturers and system integrators. From November 12 to 14, the focus at SPS in Nuremberg in Hall 7, Stand 314 will be on the solution portfolio, including safety automation concepts, the CNC control system E°Control and the digital twin.
As a medium-sized company, the Eckelmann Group strengthens mechanical and plant engineering with the expertise of well over 40 years of experience and personal support. Exquisite and exclusive solutions are created in a trustworthy partnership, the uniqueness of which naturally protects the customer’s intellectual property (IP).
Engineering is our Nature
It is the more than 200 engineers, computer scientists and natural scientists who fight for the best solution every day together with another 300 colleagues. They love and master challenging tasks and use the solution expertise they have accumulated through countless automation projects in areas such as smart control technology, image processing, artificial intelligence and hardware and software development.
Eckelmann creates solutions that will come into their own in the future, for example in environmentally friendly energy recovery. Stored braking energy helps to increase efficiency and productivity. The E°Darc DCB energy storage system significantly reduces energy consumption in applications with frequent braking processes. In addition, load peaks during operation can be considerably reduced by precharging the modules, which significantly reduces the dimensions of connected loads.
CNC control system E°Control – and tested, from practice for practice
The command range of the CNC kernel includes many options that go far beyond the standard command range and have been developed from practical experience. Designed for harsh environments, nothing can easily upset the controls.
Plug and play: pre-programmed industry solutions
The application and technology-specific software applications include, for example, the E°CUT package for cutting applications, regardless of whether cutting is carried out with a knife, plasma, laser or waterjet. The E°CUT HMI serves as a user interface for the machine operator, who is guided intuitively and simply. The HMI is also an important argument in view of the shortage of skilled workers – anyone can operate this interface after a short briefing. The E°MILL package enables the automation of machine tools and machining centers for applications such as milling, drilling or 3D printing.
Digital processes accompany users throughout the machine’s life
Eckelmann FactoryWare® Virtual Replica is an innovative engineering tool that uses a digital twin to reduce software application times, making real commissioning safer and more effective. Improved diagnostics and service are supported by special functions for real-time recordings and replays of machine sequences.
Technologieoffene und effiziente Softwareentwicklung durch das Framework FactoryWare Distributed Automation Structure erlaubt die Nutzung verschiedener Dienste und Services auf einer gemeinsamen Datenbasis im Verbund.
Openness via standards, interfaces and technologies ensures transparency and future orientation. Software modules are ideally encapsulated and ensure the know-how protection of your technologies.
Low-code programming thanks to innovative software framework
An innovative software framework has been developed that enables low-code programming of complex machine sequences.
This framework was specially developed for application engineers and process setters and enables users to create complex sequences without in-depth software knowledge. The low-code programming approach means that no software developer is required to program the machine. Instead, users can access an extensive library of ready-made sequences. These sequences can be executed both sequentially and in parallel.
With the DAF Dynamic Automation Framework, the future will be all about configuring and parameterizing machine sequences – instead of programming them.
Drive technology and IPCs for machine and plant engineering
Eckelmann FCS completes its high standards as a full-service provider for industrial automation and digitalization with drive technology and IPCs – on request in a customer-specific design and perfectly matched to the user interface. The interplay of touch operation and haptic control elements for the ideal user experience.
Safe control: E°SLC 89
Increased productivity and process stability with safety: The more complex the machine, the better the performance of the safety control system must be. The E°SLC 89 safety controller is a high-performance, SIL3 and PL e-certified safety master that can also map complex and fine-grained safety logic in the PLC, not least thanks to the close interlinking of the safety PLC and CNC. Safe communication to the drive level and all safe IO modules takes place via FSoE (FailSafe over EtherCAT). This makes the E°SLC 89 the central point of contact for the machine’s entire safety technology.
Ready-to-connect individual automation solutions
On request, Eckelmann can also supply the ready-to-connect individual automation solution fully configured, parameterized, assembled and tested in the control cabinet. The interactive presentation can be viewed live in the control cabinet at the PLC, and drag chains are also presented.
