With the full automation of all cutting systems, Eckelmann will be showcasing its products at FABTECH from October 21 to 23 at Booth S39062 in the Las Vegas Convention Center: featuring proven functionality, the cutting-edge E°CUT Control simulation, and customizable E°CUT HMI software.
With over 40 years of experience in CNC technologies for light industrial, high-definition, and combination machines, Eckelmann has become a valued partner for system integrators and OEMs. The focus is on the intuitive operation and exceptional flexibility of the cutting solution, which offers customers investment security and future-proofing.
At FABTECH in Las Vegas, Eckelmann is presenting E°CUT, a cross-technology automation solution for laser, plasma, oxy-fuel, and waterjet cutting that also significantly simplifies the transition from plasma and oxy-fuel cutting systems to modern laser cutting technologies.
In the U.S., customers benefit from a strong team: customer support – including a distribution center and service – is provided by Eckelmann North America in Houston, Texas, while development and production take place in Wiesbaden, Germany.
“There is a clear trend in the market toward laser technologies over plasma technologies. The flexibility of our solution paves the way for an easy transition,” says Executive Board Member Dr. Marco Münchhof, who understands the demands of the American market.
Eckelmann: Hardware and Software from a Single Source
With E°CUT, Eckelmann offers a highly flexible, all-in-one package designed to achieve higher cutting speeds, better cut quality, and cost-effective production of a wide variety of materials. These comprehensive solutions provide software, CNC controls, CAD/CAM, servo drives, motors, and industrial PCs – all from a single source.
The automation packages are compatible with all types of sheet metal cutting machines and enable the processing of a wide range of materials and thicknesses:
- E°CUT for Light Industry
- E°CUT ECO for small, high-resolution systems
- E°CUT PRO for high-end and heavy-duty machines
E°CUT supports all interfaces to laser sources or cutting heads and provides all the necessary technical data.
The greatest benefit of the compact CNC controller is that machine builders no longer have to assemble and develop their machine controls “from scratch” using individual components.
The state-of-the-art E°CUT is user-friendly and intuitive to operate. Even when different cutting technologies are used, the overarching environment remains consistent. This simplifies the transition and reduces training requirements.
OEMs use the E°CUT HMI to configure the solution, as a tool for machine commissioning, and as a service tool throughout the machine’s lifecycle.
With regular software updates, Industry 4.0 capabilities via OPC UA, and integrated diagnostic and service functions, E°CUT supports the digitalization of modern manufacturing environments and lays the groundwork for long-term competitiveness.
With E°CUT, Eckelmann makes the switch to laser cutting easy. The focus is always on solutions that save time, consume less energy during cutting, and minimize raw material waste – and thus costs. Engineering effort is reduced in the long term.
The E°CAM solution supports modern CAD/CAM processes, including DXF import and nesting functions, thereby laying the foundation for efficient production on modern laser cutting systems. The efficient Eckelmann CAD/CAM nesting software is fully integrated into the E°CUT HMI or available as a separate desktop version.
Plug-and-Play Solution: E°CUT Element Box
A fast, cost-effective entry into modern plasma, oxy-fuel, and laser cutting applications: A particular highlight of the FABTECH exhibit is the presentation of the E°CUT Elements Box, which was developed specifically for small and medium-sized cutting machines.
Plug it in and get started: The E°CUT Elements software is included, and the box is ready to plug in. The box measures only about 60 x 50 x 25 centimeters and contains a control unit, servo controller, cables, and motors.
This plug-and-play solution combines control, software, and drive technology in a compact, preconfigured system. Thanks to its high degree of pre-integration, development and commissioning times – and thus costs – can be significantly reduced.
The E°CUT Elements Box is ideal for manufacturers who want to automate “light industrial” machines, easily expand their portfolio to include laser cutting machines, or supplement existing plasma and oxy-fuel concepts with a laser platform.
At the same time, users benefit from the same intuitive operating philosophy, scalability, and technological flexibility that characterize the entire E°CUT product family.
Service and Retrofit
Retrofit projects also benefit from the platform’s high flexibility. Manufacturers and operators can modernize existing machine designs and adapt them to current market requirements. E°CUT’s scalable architecture makes it possible to operate both new laser systems and modernized existing machines on a common technology platform.
The Eckelmann Group also demonstrates its customer-focused approach in brand labeling: Inside, powerful control technology is at work – the EXC89 or EXC880 from Eckelmann. On the outside, the CNC impresses with customized branding and a consistent brand presence for the end customer. This is just one way to differentiate yourself from the competition not only in terms of performance but also visually – and to remain the sole point of contact for service operations.
