SPS 2026 in Nuremberg
United Expertise: We master complex Automation

It is not individual components, but the combined expertise across different technologies and disciplines that drives the Eckelmann Group’s success. Under the motto “United Expertise: We master complex Automation”, Eckelmann will bring complex industrial automation to life at SPS in Nuremberg, Hall 7, Booth 158. Through real-world applications, visitors will experience firsthand the powerful synergy of engineering expertise, technology, and experience.

The demands placed on industrial automation are becoming increasingly complex. At SPS, Eckelmann will demonstrate how collaboration across different areas of expertise translates into successful automation solutions.

The benefit for customers: By bringing together expertise from across the Eckelmann Group, we can deliver comprehensive, end-to-end automation solutions from a single source – even for highly complex projects that customers may not be able to implement on their own due to limited resources, specialist expertise, or personnel. Customers benefit from a single point of contact while gaining access to the combined know-how of all specialist departments. Our well-coordinated project teams can also help bridge skills gaps within customers’ organizations.

The real-world applications presented at our booth demonstrate the wide range of challenges and solutions involved in complex automation. They are as diverse as the industries Eckelmann serves with integrated hardware and software solutions from a single source.

Expertise Across Industries and Group Companies

One impressive example on display at SPS is the automation technology developed for the Heidelberg Ion Beam Therapy Center (HIT). For this highly precise form of cancer treatment, Eckelmann engineers developed and supplied control systems for the particle accelerator and treatment area. Charged particles are accelerated to speeds of up to 70% of the speed of light and precisely directed at tumors.

These systems control complex technical processes that demand the highest levels of precision, reliability, and safety. The project demonstrates the vital role specialized engineering can play in particularly demanding applications.

Integrating different technologies is equally important in mechanical and plant engineering. E°MILL is Eckelmann’s ideal automation solution for CNC machining centers. With E°CUT technology, Eckelmann offers a comprehensive automation solution for cutting systems designed to process a wide variety of materials. E°CUT’s full potential comes from combining cutting expertise with complementary technologies – from CNC control and software to CAD/CAM, drive technology, and intelligent human-machine interfaces (HMI).

Naturally, our customized automation solutions cover the entire process, from development and implementation to commissioning and service – throughout the complete lifecycle of systems and applications.

Live Automation Challenge!

Incredible speed, exceptional precision, strategic thinking, intense concentration, and maximum control: Just how precisely, quickly, and reliably can automation perform?

Who will win – human or machine? At our interactive trade show exhibit, visitors can put their own skills to the test against an AI-powered automation system and experience how different technologies and capabilities work together. The exhibit demonstrates how seamlessly our combined expertise comes together, incorporating control technology, human-machine interfaces (HMI), control cabinet manufacturing, machine vision, and digital twin technology.

Eckelmann engineers developed the exhibit specifically for SPS: A ping-pong ball is guided along a predefined course using precisely controlled air currents alone. Visitors take control themselves and compare their performance with that of the Eckelmann automation system.
